If you are receiving this email you have NYSAA age students, this year. Please read this email in its entirety because it has very important next steps.
Thank you all for completing the NYSAA training. The next step is now to log into the educator portal to view your student roster. This is also where you will complete your student's PNP Profile and first contact surveys.
First, please check your student rosters in Educator Portal for accuracy. You are checking to make sure all your students who are taking NYSAA are listed on your rosters. You must check that every student is rostered to you in ELA, Math and Science where applicable (see below). On the student's profile, please check that the student's name, OSIS and grade level are correct. Here is the link for the Birthdate Ranges for Students with Disabilities participating this year so you can check students grade level. Remember, a student's NYSAA grade does not always match the student's grade in ATS.
A Note about Science Rosters:
Science will be assessed at the 5th and 8th grade level this year. Please ensure that if you have students in either of these grades that are ALSO rostered to you in this subject area.
Please email your NYSAA liaison and myself that you have logged into Educator Portal and checked your rosters no later than Thursday, January 9th.
It is very important that I know as soon as possible if there is something incorrect on your student rosters so the necessary changes can be made.
The next step after verifying the accuracy of your roster is to complete First Contact Surveys and PNP Profiles.
All First Contact Surveys and PNP Profiles must be completed no later than Monday, February 3rd.
First Contact Surveys - This year student's first contact surveys did NOT transfer over from last year. This is a change! This means they are all BLANK and need to be completed for EVERY student.
PNP Profiles - It is also important to keep in mind that the only testing accommodations and modifications that can be selected on the Personal Learning Profile are those that are listed on the student's current IEP. If you have any questions about testing accommodations, please let me know. NOT EVERY student will have a completed PNP profile.
Remember the team can use the following document during an IEP meeting to decide which NYSAA testing accommodations are appropriate for the Student: Accessibility Report
If you need assistance watch the link video on updating and submitting the first contact survey and if applicable the PNP Profile.
Let me know if you come across any issues with student rosters, personal learning profiles and first contact surveys. More information to come before NYSAA administration opens on Monday, March 10th!
