CTLE Professional Development Series: Integrating Science and Language for All Students with a Focus on English Language Learners
Earn 15 asynchronous CTLE hours in ELLs, Content, and Pedagogy
Updates Jan 2024: Participants have noted concerns that Pear Deck may not be recording their work. Please be assured that Pear Deck is indeed recording your responses and we as hosts can view them. If you'd like to keep records of your progress, we recommend you take screenshots of your work in the modules as you complete them.
Please allow EDITING access to any Google docs/slides you submit to Dr. Emily Kang (ekang@adelphi.edu) so that she can view your language support comments in the right margin.
Overview
This series is designed for science and language educators to improve classroom practices for instruction and assessment by engaging in tasks that promote science and language instructional shifts. These shifts are presented in the NYSED Integrating Science and Language for All Students with a Focus on English Language Learners webinars and briefs.
There is no formal registration process. To start, simply begin Module 0. We will receive your work in real time as you complete each module. It is strongly recommended that you complete the modules in numerical order as they build on one another. Please also take screenshots of your work to keep track of your progress.
Please email Dr. Emily Kang (ekang@adelphi.edu) when you have completed all work associated with the modules. Once the completion of your responses has been verified (review of your work will take 2-3 weeks), you will be emailed a copy of the CTLE Certificate of Completion form. If you have any questions related to the content of the modules themselves, please email Dr. Emily Kang (ekang@adelphi.edu).
