The New York City Public Schools NYC READS is the Department of Education's central office where core curriculum and instructional guidance and academic intervention service support come together to form a coherent vision and set of resources for our schools. 

The NYC READS team works in partnership with families, students, teachers, principals, superintendents, and the Literacy Advisory Council to implement key elements that foster a systemwide culture of literacy resulting in higher levels of proficiency.
