My name is Laura Rubcewich. For the past four years, I have had the pleasure of being an Early Childhood educator at PS 45 Q! For the past two years, I have been teaching Kindergarten. My days are filled with so much joy and love from my scholars and families. From the fall of September 2018 until the spring of June 2021, I had the absolute pleasure of following my scholars and families from 3K all the way to Kindergarten! Those three years, were something so special and unique that I know many educators don't have the opportunity to have. Together, we learned and grew tremendously. I myself, blossomed into not only a stronger educator, but also a leader/mentor learning every step of the way.
As you navigate through my portfolio, I hope to give you a better understanding of who I am as an educator. Through evidence I have provided you will be able to see the significant impact I have not only had on my scholars, but also with the community and my colleagues throughout my years at PS 45. Being an educator through the pandemic and in general, has allowed me to accomplish and grow more than I ever thought was possible. I pride myself on being an extremely flexible educator and team player. Navigating education through a pandemic was no easy feat, but with the help and support of my administration and colleagues, I feel I have found my forever home at PS 45 Q! I look forward to all the amazing years to come educating the leaders of our future!
In preparing this portfolio I have followed the New York City Teacher Tenure Decision Making Framework as a guide. (see below) last updated 2015-2016
