My Video 4:                                   Animated Text

1. Review Lesson Goals

SWBAT:

...use skills learned from the lesson 10 project to add animated text to their video  projects

2.  Add a Clip: A Background for Intro Text

1. Decide on a Background for the intro to your Video.  Be sure to pick something that isn't too "BUSY" visually or that has negative space so you can make your TEXT EASY TO READ.  Also choose something that compliments the look of your video.

Options;

• Photograph

• Texture/Design

• Gradient/Flat Color

2. Add the asset and position it so that it's the first clip.

3. Edit the duration (but test it after you add the text and make sure the duration is not too long or too fast and that the audience can read it.)

3. Add Video Group 2 and Text Layer

1. Create a new Video Group

2. Choose an easy to read  font (no Myriad Pro) and set the point size to so it fills your canvas nicely.

3. Type in a Title and your name. (See example)

Do not add a colon after "by"

3. Show effort to make design choices. Consider color, contrast, size, alignment, styles, etc and edit your text accordingly.

4.  Animate Text

1. Refer to Page 275, step 6 for instruction on how to insert keyframes and animate your text.

2. Delete keyframes by right clicking on them if you need to.

3. Again, show effort to make design choices. Use a movement that's different than the one for BEACH DAY. You can have more than 2 keyframes.

4. Preview the animation. Make sure the text stops long enough to be read. Make changes by sliding the keyframes from left to right as needed.

5. Add/Remove Keyframe Option

You can add keyframes without moving your text to make it stop before it makes final movement in the the clip

1.  Start animating  and create at least the first keyframe.

2. Move the playhead down the timeline and position the text where you want it to stop - this should create a new keyframe.

3. Move the playhead again and this time instead of moving the text, add a keyframe by clicking on the new keyframe icon in the attributes

6. Adjust Animation/Duration As Needed

1. Play back your animation and edit as needed.

Goals:

7. Assessment

8. Submit Your Work

9. Make Up Work if Needed

Come to the Mac Lab outside of class time.

NB Do Now 5/17/19 What is the difference between pixel dimension and resolution?

NB Do Now 5/17/19

Pixel dimension refers to the width and the height of a file in pixels. Resolution refers to how those pixels are organized; how many pixels per square inch.

Notice that the resolution has been changed and because the "Resample Image" box is unchecked, the pixel dimension stays the same while the print size in inches changes.

NB Do Now 5/20/19 What is tweening?

 NB Do Now 5/20/19

Tweening is the movement that is generated between keyframes.

Tweening is the process of generating intermediate frames between two key frames, to give the appearance that the first image evolves smoothly into the second image
