Save for College Program: We continued to empower families with financial literacy tools and savings opportunities to support long-term educational success.
Assistant Principal Professional Learning Institutes: We launched targeted institutes focused on literacy, mathematics, and school safety, strengthening leadership capacity across our schools.
Program Expansion: We expanded our bilingual programs, specialized programs for students with autism, and accelerated learning opportunities, ensuring that every student has access to the support and challenge they need to thrive.
STEAM, Arts, and Enrichment: We celebrated creativity and innovation through expanded STEAM programming, the exciting Science Showdown, engaging Math Games, and the inspiring District 20 Arts Showcase, which highlighted the incredible talents of our student artists and performers.
Welcoming New Schools: We proudly welcomed three new schools to the District 20 family:
PS 413 Joanne Seminara School of Law and Medicine

I also thank our dedicated community leaders and advocates at CEC20, the President’s Council, Title I DPAC, and all of our partners who contribute to making District 20 the best district in New York City.

Ms. Rejoice Pravasi, Middle School teacher from 20K163.
In her presentation she used the book Visible Learning, by John Hattie and Dougls Fisher, about How to effectively create an impact on Student learning. Then she introduced us to some wonderful ways to use AI with Amplify. She recently attended the NYC Schools IT Summit and shared the real-life implementation of AI to evaluate learning, develop criteria for student self-assessment, and facilitate the Claim, Evidence, Reasoning process.
Ms. Janine Feinberg and Ms. Vittoria Marcelli from 20K104
There presentation was about planning Amplify lessons when you have only a certain number of periods to teach. They demonstrated the Ecosystems unit on 5th grade and guided the participants in the planning of the Patterns of the Earth and Sky unit.
