The Garden Partnership Theme This Year Is Soil and Water
Through the Plant, Learn, and Grow Garden Partnership with the New York Botanical Garden and District 75, students engage in hands-on exploration of plants, ponds, and gardens. They learn how living things grow and adapt while connecting classroom science to real-world gardening ultimately cultivating curiosity, teamwork, and care for the environment.
Wetlands are areas where land and water meet, like marshes and swamps. They clean water, prevent floods, and provide homes for many plants and animals. Exploring wetlands helps students see how all living things are connected in these rich, life-filled ecosystems.
Students investigated the rich life of our wetlands measuring, sketching, and comparing plants with aloe-like sap and other pond species. Through hands-on exploration, they discover how these plants adapt to wet environments and support the ecosystem.
