Pioneers Calendar
The purpose of the pioneer calendar is to highlight computer scientists who contributed to the field but have been disregarded due to historical oppression and/or algorithmic biases.
Aligned with relative dates on the school calendar, we celebrate their lives, their works, and their impact on society as a whole. Our goal for building such a calendar will be to ensure genius minds are no longer pushed aside by the mainstream reporters’ gaze.
We hope that these pioneers inspire your students and serve to remind them that anyone can be a computer scientist, regardless of race, gender, or (dis)ability.
