School History

I.S. 77 was nominated in 1982 for the National Register of Historic Places because it is a unique example of turn-of-the-century building design. The building was designed by Charles B.J. Snyder, who was a respected architect. He designed many other schools in the city. Part of Ridgewood Park was once where the school is now. The first students graduated in 1912.

In 2003, I.S. 77 added a new gym, library, more classrooms, and a new cafeteria.

Today I.S. 77, is a great school that combines the best technology and caring teachers and staff to teach our students. We are proud of our past and look forward to a bright future.
