RtI, Enrichment & STREAM

Class overview

Response to Intervention- is designed to provide effective and high-quality instruction, monitor all students' progress to make sure they are progressing as expected and provide additional support (intervention) to those students who are struggling.

Enrichment- is a supplementary educational program designed to enhance students' academic experience and challenge them academically.  It is not a replacement for the core curriculum, but rather an addition to it.

STREAM- is an approach to learning that includes Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art and Math. Lessons, units, and community education programs promote a higher level of critical thinking and a deeper understanding of content materials. STREAM activities are hands-on; projects based, include engineering design, and have relevant application in the real world.

Pre-K STREAM classes: I begin each class reinforcing the rules of the classroom, a quick share around the room, brain-break activity, listen to a book and then an activity that goes along with our book of the week.

About me

I have been teaching since 2008.  I have been with OLBS since 2010, teaching 3rd grade.  This is the first year that I do not have my own classroom.  I am excited to work as a Reading Specialist and STREAM coordinator for this year. I strive to give your child the best education that I can. I encourage you to reach out if you need any information.
