What is E-Learning or Electronic Learning?
A learning, training or education system that is delivered through digital or electronic resources. Although eLearning is based on formalized learning, it is provided through electronic devices such as computers, tablets and even cellular phones that are connected to the internet. This makes it easy for users to learn anytime, anywhere, with few, if any, restrictions.
It is important to note that this teaching-learning process can be ulitised in or out of the classroom.
E--learning falls into two main categories: asynchronous and synchronous.
Asynchronous e-learning: the learners complete work/assignments at their own pace on their own. Some activities may include watching pre-recorded class content and video, visuals, and or text, quizzes, simulations, experiments, games, and other interactive elements.
Synchronous e-learning or live-online training, or virtual classroom training: this type of lesson is directed by the teacher and occurs at the class level with all class members or a specified small group Synchronous activities uses a web-conferencing or virtual classroom platform with features such as slide or screen sharing, as well as interaction tools such as chat, polling, and screen annotation.
