An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is a written statement of the educational program designed to meet a child’s individual needs. Every child who receives special education services must have an IEP.
IEP Team Members:
Parent
Student
Special Education Teacher (that works with the student)
General Education Teacher (that works with the student)
School Representative (Usually an Assistant Principal)
Counselor (if applicable)
Your child will be assigned a case manager in the beginning of the year. The case manager will be your point person for any concerns or questions you may have throughout the year.
The team will meet once a year to review your child's progress towards his/her goals, discuss any recent/updated testing if applicable and will develop an updated IEP with new goals. Once the draft is finalized a copy will be mailed home. As a parent you have 10 days to review and contact the school if you have any concerns.
Here are some documents that you will and your child will be asked to complete during this process:
Parent/Student Vocational Assessments (links can be found under the vocational forms tab)
If you have any questions you can reach out to a member of the student based support staff, Special Education Grade Level Leader or your child's case manager for the current school year.
This document is a list of contact information.
