july blog post

The second I found out that I would be teaching wonderful 8th graders all subjects this year through distance learning, I immediately began planning. As expected, I soon became overwhelmed, being a first year teacher and also having to navigate how to run a Chromebook classroom was extremely daunting at first, but over the month I have gained confidence in my abilities to do right by my scholars. I have a great team of teachers and administrators that have my back as we navigate this somewhat uncharted territory. Now is the final push of planning before school starts, I am eager to meet my scholars, but sad that I wont be able to hug them and see their beautiful faces in person everyday. I know that we will do our best to make the most of the virtual classroom this year, it will take some hard work and perseverance, but I know we can do anything together.

august student blog post

This month of August I was scared and nervous to see how things were going to go, since we were doing online this year. All of us were probably nervous at first. But then we met Miss Gonzales who is a wonderful teacher and showed us that online can be easy and if there is ever a problem you can connect with her, and not be to hard on your yourself if somethings don´t go your way. Later on as weeks past I felt more confident with how school was going. Miss Gonzales would always be there if we need help with anything or didn´t understand a certain subject. We learned new math and we also reviewed old math. We are also reading a great book, ¨ Taking Sides¨ by Gary Soto. I am looking forward to the rest of the year and seeing how it goes and hopefully we could go back to school soon.

september student blog posts

This month of September I think everyone was feeling better with how things were going. Some days were more stressful than others but we all got through them. We also learned that we might go back to school, which was a lot to take in. It is kind of a scary thought but also exciting because we won´t have to be at home everyday on our chromebooks. But overall things have been going great I feel like everyone is becoming more used to our regular schedule.

We learned about the history of the U.S for example the first, second, and third amendments and the bill of rights, In Science, we learned about energy and things that provide energy for. In, math we learned about graphing, types of slope and scientific notations. Then in ELA we read a book called taking sides and reflected what we learned. I feel pretty great about this month a it tired

Stuff we did in the classroom this month was getting used to learning the material that was being taught to us and what we did learn was a bunch of stuff on math and history. Through this whole month I felt good because I was turning in everything.

We did exponents for math, we finished taking sides, and we finished our unit for science too. I developed a further understanding on exponents and energy. I feel like this month could have gone better than it did, but it was okay.

october student blog posts

This month I learned about functions, American history, and force and motion. This month we started a new book about Claudette Colvin. I'm glad that next week we will have less time on zoom due to the transition. My favorite thing we did this month is learning about American government.

This month our class had a lot of fun playing games and also learning. This month I learned that with hard work comes great things. Next month is the first time we are going back to class. Which makes me a little nervous but that's alright, My favorite thing about this month was defiantly we our whole class played among us after class or during break.

This month of October we learned many new things in math like slope rate and propotionality. We also are still learning more abut functions and linear and non-linear. I feel like we have all already gotten used to how our schedule goes, but now we are starting school on November 2nd. We all had the option to choose if we want to stay or go. We are going to see how everything goes but so far we are all doing great.

We learned about functions and their linearity, about Claudette Colvin, and force and motion for designing wheelchairs. I feel excited that it is almost Christmas. The transitions is seems a bit overwhelming for everyone, but hopefully we can adapt very soon. My favorite thing we did this month was probably learning about Claudette Colvin who is very inspiring, determined, and passionate about getting whites to understand that blacks are not inferior to them.

My blog post this month is about what happen this October to shorting it up what happen was that the class learned a lot about science this month. We learned how Volocity works and speed, collision, etc The class also read a lot about the book Claudette Clovin and answered a lot of multiple questions about the book and our opinion.we also talked a lot about politics and even helped our teacher on writing her vote by the class voting on the options she had given us. This october was over all full of su[rises and i would say it was one of the best months yet

November Student Blog Posts

This month of November we did several projects, worked on the book we´re reading and we did more science assignments and topics this month. What I learned this month is a lot more about historical events that happened for example in the book were reading more about Rosa Parks and the whole situation. Well I feel uhh idk good i guess I an say. Well I feel the same because I never went BACK too school but I guess its a lot better and safer for both teachers and students. My favorite thing we did this month were the projects we did. Hybrid learning went well.

November was a pretty weird month but we all got through it. Some people got to go to school and everything was working out fine, there also was people online so we had to join zoom either way. But after Thanksgiving break everything went back again schools started shutting down. It is already almost going to be the start of a new year and we still have been doing online school. But I am glad to see that we have all been doing so much better and this has been becoming our usual routine now.

We learned about equations and all that stuff. I feel tired. The transition didn't really affect me since I was already distance learning; however, I did like having an hour less. I like learning about Claudette Colvin because she is a powerful person who deserves credit for the amazing thing she did.

december/january blog posts

This month we learned about Geometry in math and we did presentations on teen agents in ELA and in science we learned about the magnetic force in science. My favorite thing we did this month was the presentation because it is fun to make presentations and present them.

So December/January we started getting into geomatry - we learned about translation, rotations, reflections, and dialations. We also came back from winter break which was two weeks. So we had to refresh our memeories as well. We did presentations about teen socail movements. Overall a pretty good, usual months I think everyone already knows our usual routine which makes everything go by faster and smoother.

We did geometry on math,i learned how to do geometry but i feel like i need more practice.Distance learning is okay i think i would be more focused in person. My favorite thing we did this month is history becuase its very intresting.

We did projects, presentations, spirit week etc.. I learned about different teen activists through my classmates presentations, learned more about force in science, and geometry in math. I feel good. I like distance learning but it´s harder than actually attending school. My favorite thing we did this month are the portfolio projects.

So in December and January, we finished 5 math and 6 math in January and we are now finished with 7 math.So far i feel fine but bored being not able to do anything. My favorite thing this month was that i now know that im doing a lot better at school.

february blog posts

This month we learned about Pythagorean theorem in math. In history we learned about the northwest land ordinance. Distance learning is fun but that fun because we can't really see our friends. My favorite thing we dd this month was learning about the Pythagorean theorem.

This Febuary we had a three day weekend so far, for presidents day. In math we are learning about Pythagorean Theorem on regular shapes and 3D shapes. We also have been learning on how to find the distance of two point on the graph with Pythagorean Theorem. A big news that we go this month was about hyrbrid learning so that means people are going to go back to school again and some can stay online. So far I think we can all say that this month has just gone like any ther month, but still good.
