Fortnite

Here are a few things you may want to know about the game Fortnite:

There are several different modes within the game. The pointers below are about the popular 'Battle Royale' mode.

- It is recommended for children aged 12 and over

- The aim of the game is to defeat every other player by fighting and killing them

- You play with 100 other players and you cannot choose who you play

- You cannot turn off the chat function so your child will see what other players are saying

- You will hear other players who have microphones unless you mute them.

- This part of the game is free

If your child is playing Fortnite our advice is to:

1. Have an honest conversation about it with them, asking them how to play or what they like about it is a great place to start. 

2. Have a go yourself! Play with your child so you get first hand experience of the game. You can also investigate the reporting tools  with your child so that you both know how to report any players that are behaving inappropriately.
