Hello Families!
My name is Sarah Picton and I’ve been a teacher for 17 years, 14 of which have been at Hewitt’s Creek. If you’re new to Hewitt’s Creek - Welcome! It is an amazing school community and I hope you’ll love it as much as I do.
Teaching is one of my passions! I love learning with students, and helping them grow. I am the proud dog owner to two fluffy dog siblings - Ellie & Rolo. I love to take them on walks with my husband, especially in the forest. In my spare time, I love to read, travel, spend time with my friends and family, and go boating. In the winter, I’m an avid curler.
I look forward to getting to know your family as we work together to make your child’s kindergarten experience positive, fun, and play-filled.

I live in the community as well so if you see me I’m often on a walk or bike ride exploring our city with my husband and our 2 boys. I also like to go swimming and visit the beach near my trailer. I can’t wait to meet you because we are going to have a blast learning and exploring together!
Hello families,
My name is Kevin Hamilton and I am a Kindergarten teacher at Hewitt’s Creek P.S. I'm excited to meet your little one, and get to know him or her! I really enjoy teaching FDK, and am looking forward to many learning adventures in the new school year. My wife and I have three children; Olivia (10), Emily (7) and Nolan (6). Some of our favourite things to do together are baking, reading, crafting, and building with Lego. We ski in the winter, and love exploring different beaches and parks around Barrie in the summer.
I hope you all have a wonderful summer and I will see you in September!
Hello,
My Name is Anna Iannello (pronounced I-anne-nello). Welcome!
I have been with the school board since 2012 as a D.E.C.E. in Kindergarten. I eagerly look forward to the daily discoveries, adventures, and “sense of wonder” moments with Kindergarten children. I enjoy the child-like sense of humour and purpose that children naturally bring. Going outside to explore and learn through play is one of the best parts of our day.
When I am not playing and learning with children, I enjoy praising, dancing, singing, rollerblading, going to the beach, and spending time with friends and family. Looking forward to meeting you.
Hello families,
My name is Nicole Michon and I am a kindergarten teacher at Hewitt's Creek. I have been teaching in the Simcoe County District School Board for eight years. This will be my second year at Hewitt's Creek. I am passionate about kindergarten education and creating fun learning experiences for students. It is so rewarding to see the little learners blossom throughout their two years in kindergarten.
When not at school, I am often out exploring our beautiful city with my husband, daughter Holly (3) and son Max (1). We love to visit local libraries, parks, farms, and children's art studios. I enjoy baking, painting and gardening. I also love to hike and enjoy nature with our two dogs Scout and Sam.
I look forward to meeting and getting to know you this school year!
Hello,
My name is Beth Samra. I am a kindergarten educator at Hewitt’s Creek School. I have been here for 12 years and look forward to many more. My teaching partner and I strive to create a happy and healthy learning environment for our students.
The best thing about kindergarten is how every day is different from the one before, each day brings new wonders and discoveries. There is never a dull moment!
I am also a proud mom to 2 boys. In my spare time I enjoy reading, listening to music and going for bike rides.
I look forward to meeting you and your children, have a happy and safe summer.
My name is Cindy Millar and I am a Kindergarten teacher at Hewitt’s Creek Public School. I have been working for the Simcoe County District School Board for 23 years now. I have lots of experience in primary grades and kindergarten. I really enjoy working in kindergarten because there is so much growth and development during the early years. It brings me so much joy to see the transformation students make during year 1 and especially year 2 of the kindergarten program!
When I am not teaching, I like to spend my time with my husband, two boys (16 and 18) and our two cockapoos, Penny and Callie. We enjoy the great outdoors as a family together! We like to go for walks, bike rides, swimming, downhill skiing and boating. My children are very busy boys balancing school and competitive swimming. They keep my husband and I very busy with practices and National/Provincial swim meets all across Canada. We love watching our kids excel in a sport they love! We are their biggest supporters and fans.
I am very excited to meet our newest kindergarten students for the upcoming school year! I hope you all have a wonderful summer and I look forward to meeting you and your family in September!

Helllo,
My name is Natasha Barry and I am a Special Education Resource Teacher (SERT) at Hewitt’s Creek P.S. September will be my 11th year at Hewitt’s Creek. I work with kindergarten teams and families, as well as students from grades 1 to 5, to help support students with any challenges they may be having. My years of experience as a SERT, have also given me insight to provide suggestions regarding community supports that are available to families. I look forward to offering an additional hand at the beginning of the school year to all of our kindergarten classes to help ensure students have a smooth transition at the beginning of the school year. It is so rewarding to see students walking down the hall when they are in grade 4 or 5 and remember them on their first day of school.
At home I have two children of my own who are going into grade 10 and 8 and we enjoy playing outside with our dog and winter activities. Some of my hobbies are gardening, reading, sewing and almost anything crafty since my part time job in highschool was at Michaels. I look forward to getting to know our youngest students better and watching them as they grow!
Take care,
Ms. Barry
