Hello, my name is Stephanie Berry! Here is a little bit about me. I did my undergraduate program at McKendree University and my graduate program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. In 2013, I was honored by being one of the top ten history teachers in the State of Illinois, and I received a Certificate of Excellence in teaching American history. In 2022-2023, I participated in I3: Inclusive, Inquiry-Based Social Studies for Illinois class with the University of Illinois and Illinois State Board of Education to learn all about the revised Illinois Social Science Standards. In 2025, I am participating in a Teaching With and About Native Americans Cohort through Northwestern University. I was inspired to go into the teaching field because of former teachers.
This is my 20th year of teaching at Smithton C.C.S.D. #130. I am excited to teach 7th and 8th grade Social Studies this 2024-2025 school year. I have always been interested in History, Civics, and Geography. Everyone has a story to tell! What is your story? Your story can impact the world. Let's impact the world positively as we venture through life.
