This committee will formalize the work that the Santa Cruz Education Foundation (SCEF) has been doing to leverage school and community buy-in, and financial support for CS education in the schools. The team will provide oversight of resource distribution across the district, help align the CS pathway from K-5 to 6-8 to 9-12 to college and workforce, create a long-term vision and make recommendations about how CS for All will be integrated beyond being an add-on, and oversee sustainability initiatives. Members include Teachers and staff appointed by the Principals, Principals, Directors of Curriculum & Instruction, Superintendents, researchers, SCEF, and representatives from the Tech Industry (e.g., Looker; Launch Brigade) and higher education (e.g., Cabrillo College; UCSC) that are already working on countywide education-to-workforce initiatives.
Guided by an agenda designed with input from the whole team, this committee will determine and provide recommendations in the areas listed above.
