For Parents

If your child experiences, or expresses symptoms of, an emotional or mental health need or crisis, you should contact the Georgia Crisis and Access Line (GCAL) at 1-800-715-4225. This most often includes thoughts of self-harm or harm to others but may also include concerns such as anxiety.

GCAL is a free resource provided to all Georgia Families that aims to provide immediate and qualified mental health assistance and referrals to families. You may also download the MyGCAL app at no cost from the app store.

If you believe that this need is an emergency, please contact 911 immediately.

What should I do if I become aware of a child welfare concern?

If you become aware of a concern for a child’s well-being (i.e. abuse or neglect), please contact the Department of Family and Children Services at 1-855-GA-CHILD to make a report. Reports are anonymous. If you believe that a child is in immediate danger, please call 911.
