Membership Requirements

Membership Requirements: 

SAA SNHS applicants must meet the following by-law requirements for yearly Chapter membership and be approved by SAA SNHS Advisors and Faculty Council:

(Must currently be an Exceptional Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Student)

• Section 1. "Membership is an honor bestowed upon a student."

• Section 2.  "A member must be in the last two years of secondary school education (juniors and seniors), but exceptional sophomore students can be accepted into a chapter if taking an AP science course).

• Section 3. "A member must have and maintain a 3.0 (80+) grade point average (GPA) across all classes and a 3.5 GPA (87+) across all sciences. The GPA requirements are unweighted GPA values.”

• Section 4. "A member must be enrolled in at least one upper-level science class (Honors and/or AP) during each membership year."

• Section 5. “A member must maintain behavior that is acceptable to the guidelines as outlined by the school’s code of conduct.”

(Membership into SAA SNHS Chapter = $15 yearly dues)

A one-time $30 induction fee will be collected if honor cord requirements are met over the course of membership to grant the Honor Cord for graduation.
