Course Description:
Emphasizes design elements and principles in the production of applied design art products and/or designs such as architecture, advertisements, graphic designs, environmental designs, and product designs. Stresses proper use of equipment and vocabulary and technical terms. Investigates the computer and its influence on and role in creating contemporary designs. Includes a cultural and historical study of master design works of different periods and styles.

Due to significant budget cuts, the Visual Art Department is requesting a $50 lab fee from students enrolled in visual art courses. This fee will help provide essential supplies and resources needed to maintain the quality and integrity of our visual art programs. We appreciate your support and contribution. A link on school cash will be provided soon.
Evaluation:
Assessment: Class work, homework, Critiques, discussion 60%
Formal Assessment:written tests, performance 40%
Course Requirements/Expectations:
Attendance
Attendance will be taken daily. It is the student’s responsibility to make arrangements for missed work. Three days will be granted for make-up work with an excused absence or the student will receive a zero for the assignment.
Late Work Policy
All work turned in late will lose a letter grade each day it is late. After 5 days, late work will not be accepted.
Starting Grade before rubric:
100 - On time
90 - 1 Day Late
80 - 2 Days Late
70 - 3 Days Late
60 - 4 Days Late
50 - 5 Days Late
0 - 6 Days Late
Tutorial
Tutorial is available on a rolling basis, students just need to let me know what day they would like to stay after. I do not stay after on Fridays.Sign up is required for a tutorial to make up a zero or to complete work. Please inquire in advance to make an appointment via email or remind.com
