The tournament fee is $25 per person for the adult divisions for the first tournament registered in. Each additional division entered is $20.
We will have two special brackets for $25/team. The first is the High School bracket open only to high school players and the second is the Senior/Junior bracket.
All profits from the tournament and any donations will support the students enrolled in State High's Future Business Leaders of America program. If a bracket does not have enough teams, the players will be placed in a different bracket except for the senior/junior and high school divisions.
Tournament Rules and Schedule
Balls: Franklin X40 Outdoor Pickleball
First Serve: First serve/choice of side will be decided randomly prior to each match by tournament directors.
Qualifying Games
Qualifying games will be played to 11, win by 1 or 12 minutes, whichever comes first. All games will start and end at the same time as called by the tourament director. If the timer goes off mid-point, the point will be played out. If the teams are tied at the end of 12 minutes, the next team to score will determine the winner.
Timeouts: No timeouts will be permitted in qualifying games.
All teams will play against at least 4 opponents in the qualifying rounds. More is possible if bracket isn't full. The maximum amount of teams in each division is 12.
The qualifying games were planned with generic numbers and then the registered teams were assigned a number to ensure randomness. Some teams may play one more/fewer games than others. Some teams may play “harder/easier” competition. Remember: This is a fun, low-stakes tournament to help raise some funds for students and help them learn to lead by planning this whole event. No one’s DUPR rating, chance of moving on to nationals, or winning a cash prize is on the line.
If the tournament director deems wind is a factor, players may directed to switch sides at the 6 minute mark.
The courts at Bernel Park are close together and balls from other courts may enter your court. Please only stop play if a player is danger of stepping on a ball. The ball rolling through the back of the court while everyone is at the kitchen should not stop play because it was a distraction.
