November 14, 2022
Initial Project Recommendations
The Auditorium Committee presented their recommendations to the Board of Education on November 14, 2022. Here is the video of that portion of the meeting, including a video from students explaining why they think the renovation is essential
January 9, 2023
Auditorium Follow-Up Presentation
A follow up presentation was made to the Board of Education, to answer questions raised since the first presentation, and share more detailed information about the acoustical study. View the presentation slides and video here.
March 27, 2023
New York's State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQR) requires all state and local government agencies and schools to consider environmental impacts before undertaking any capital improvements. As part of that requirement, the Board approved the SEQR designation at its meeting on March 27, 2023.
At the same meeting, the Board formally adopted the Bond Proposition. The Board believes funding the Auditorium through a bond is the most appropriate method, given the scope of work, and that a bond best aligns the taxpayer impact with the expected life of the renovation.
May 16, 2023
Scarsdale residents will vote on the Bond Referendum, along with the annual budget. Voters will also elect representatives to two Board of Education seats.
May 17- November 2023
If the bond is approved by voters, preparation of project specifications will commence, in anticipation of State Education Department review and approval.
December, 2023
Project specifications and plans will be submitted to the State Education Department for review and approval by December, 2023.
Fall 2023
It is anticipated that a Bond Anticipation Note will be issued for initial architectural and anticipated contractor expenses which will be incurred during spring 2024
March 2024
It is anticipated that following State Education Department project approval, project bids will be advertised beginning in March 2024.
Late March, Early April 2024
It is anticipated that bids will be awarded in early spring 2024.
June 2024
Work is anticipated to begin in late June 2024 and continue through the summer and fall.
July 2024
A Serial Bond is anticipated to be issued in July, 2024. The bond is not to exceed $4.75 million
January 2025
If all else goes according to schedule, it is anticipated the project will be completed by January 2025
