Founded in 1972, the Scarsdale A-School seeks to promote character development through academic challenges and civic engagement. A core aspect of our program is not just the strong relationships that students build with one another but the unique trust that is fostered between students and faculty. In our classes, students have the opportunity to demonstrate genuine ownership over their education by having regular input into the curriculum and the projects they take on. They receive models and incentives for intellectual risk-taking. Every January, our students engage in experiential learning through our internship program, which gives them the opportunity to explore passions and interests outside of their regular coursework. Through our advisory program, we help students to be self-reflective, better self-advocates and find healthy outlets for the stressors in their lives. Through these experiences our students become effective leaders. During their three years at the A-School students demonstrate authentic growth as well as real gratitude for being a part of a community that values each of them for the unique individuals that they are.
We will be presenting our program to freshman English classes on January 20, 2026.
Parent Information Night will be on Wednesday @ 7pm in the 1N4 /N6. Students are welcome to attend.
A Google form will be posted for students to complete in January/February.
