What My Culture Means to Me
The Reflections theme for the 2026-2027 school year is out! "What My Culture Means To Me" encourages students to explore their heritage, traditions, family, and personal experiences through various arts categories, including dance, film, literature, music, photography, and visual arts.
Culture can mean family traditions, favorite foods, music, special places, stories passed down through generations, celebrations, or anything that helps shape who you are.
Not sure where to start? Talk together as a family! Ask questions like: What tradition is special to us? What food reminds you of family? What place feels like part of your story? What has someone in our family taught you that you never want to forget?
Families can help start the conversation, but the idea and creative work should belong to the student.
There is no single definition of culture and no single way to tell your story.
YOUR CULTURE. YOUR STORY. YOUR ART. YOUR VOICE.
We can’t wait to see the creativity of our students!
