Neurodiversity
Join us to celebrate neurodiversity!
What is neurodiversity? It is the diversity of our brains. Everyone's brain is wired differently. Because of that we all think and learn and experience the world differently. That's a wonderful thing. It makes the world a richer and more interesting place.
Celebrating neurodiversity means that we respect that everyone has their own strengths and challenges. You may struggle with some things that others find easy. And in turn you may find it easy to do things that others find difficult. Let's all be patient and kind, and help and support each other.
ACTIVITIES FOR ALL STUDENTS
COLOR! it rainbow
The infinity sign is a symbol for neurodiversity. Print the coloring page and color the infinity sign in with all the colors of the rainbow to show the uniqueness of each neurodivergent person with their individual strengths and needs.
Some of the different ways of thinking and learning have been given labels, such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and dyspraxia. These kinds of brains are just different and a natural part of human diversity. But these conditions can make it difficult to communicate, focus, read, or write. Because of that Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, among others, are disabilities.
Meet Julia, the newest friend on Sesame Street. Julia is autistic and she and Elmo share an amazing friendship.
