Note-taking: Collecting, organizing and synthesizing
The notecard feature in NoodleTools helps you take and organize your notes in one place - no more misplacing notes or reinventing a system with each new project. Each notecard contains three sections for collecting and sorting information:
Direct Quotation: Copy and paste text directly from your source, then add your own annotations explaining why the quote is important or how you might use it.
Paraphrase or Summary: Rewrite the author's ideas in your own words. This is more than just changing a few words—it demonstrates that you truly understand the content, ideas, and concepts presented.
My Ideas: Record your original thinking. What questions do you have? What connections do you see to other sources or to the broader Progressive Era? What critiques or analysis can you offer?
