Emergency Binder is in the top left desk drawer
Seating charts are in white binder in brown cubby next to SmartBoard but students should know their spots.
Students should not touch any instruments in the room unless it is indicated in the sub plans.
Emergency "everything has gone wrong and I don't know what to do:" Google Chrome Music Lab or Incredibox.com and let kids play around as a class. Please only do this as a last resort!
Mangiamele - 12:50-1:30
Play the leprechaun rhythm game!
Also linked here if the left is not working.
Students should SAY AND CLAP all rhythms EXCEPT the leprechaun rhythm (shared on slide two).
To help committ that rhythm to memory, practice it a few times together out loud.
Once the game starts, if anyone says or claps the leprechaun rhythm, the teacher gets a point!
If no one says the leprechaun rhythm, the class gets a point!
Bonus points at the end for good sportsmanship :)
Students can choose to play any of the games shared below.
Please also take time to read the story, "Holding On" to them. You can pick the order of events; though, the book is a nice way to relax between games!

Review Singing the Song
Play the game!
One student is chosen as the "seeker" and goes into the hallway
Another student is the "hider" and gets to hide the black felt bag somewhere in the room (it can be slightly blocked but not fully hidden or inside of something)
Once its hidden, the seeker can come back
The class helps the seeker find the bag by singing louder when they get closer, and softer when they're further away (like the hot cold game!)
Once they find it, they become the hider and someone else gets a turn as the new seeker.
One student walks around with an envelope while the class has their eyes closed and drops it in the lap of someone. At the end of the song, they must guess who has the envelope!
Nedwick - 1:35-2:15
Take turns having someone tap the steady beat on the board.
Then, practice the longs & short shorts.
The students can make a train and take turns being a conductor like we do in class and roll the dice to go fast/slow.
Please take time to read the story, "Holding On" to them.
Click on the above Youtube link to play the song
Students simply follow along to what the song is telling them to do!
For "Runnning" they should run IN PLACE as we are inside.
Watch this musical read-a-loud!
