What Do We Know About Snow ?
It turns into ice and it can melt.
Snow can melt when you're holding it.
Snow is wet.
Snow turns into water .
Snow is mushy.
Snow melts into water.

Snow feels like cotton.

Snow can stick to a tree.
In the sun, snow still melts.
Snow is cold.

Our Nature Table
Our classroom environment is carefully prepared to create an atmosphere of inspiration for learning. The seasonal nature table gathers items that I have collected and the children are beginning to add their own collections from the natural world. We can create beautiful scenes and collect items from nature that reflect the rhythms of the season outside.
Our nature table enables children to touch, look at closely, smell and listen to some of the things in our natural environment. It encourages an interest in, and respect for, the natural world. We can also use our nature table for storytelling, exploring themes like lifecycles and simply enjoying the beauty of the season.
Every season is marked with stories, songs, poems and games that carry appropriate seasonal themes of animals hibernating or characters blossoming and changing.
Out of joyful and enthusiastic activity, the children have the opportunity to develop capacities of imagination and creativity, along with a sense of wonder, reverence, and compassion for humanity and our earth.
