Dear 1R Families,
Welcome to First Grade! I'm Mrs. Rubin, and I’m so excited to be your child’s teacher this year! I can't wait to meet all the bright, curious minds joining 1R this year!
In our 1R classroom, education is about sparking curiosity and growing a lifelong love of learning! Our classroom is a warm, welcoming space where questions are encouraged, mistakes are part of the journey, and every child’s voice matters. I look forward to discovering and supporting your child’s individual strengths, interests, and learning styles.
In 1R, students are active participants in their learning. Children set goals, make thoughtful choices, and reflect on their progress with pride. Most importantly, our classroom will be a place where every child feels safe, valued, and connected. ❤️
I’ll be greeting all my new 1R friends on Tuesday, September 2nd, and I can’t wait to kick off a fantastic school year.

4 12-count Dixon Ticonderoga pre-sharpened #2 pencils
1 Sturdy Poly 2-Pocket Folder - YELLOW
1 12 ct. Crayola Thick washable markers
1 Expo dry-erase markers (fine tip, eraser on cap, thin/skinny)
2 Large glue sticks
1 Globe-Weis/Pendaflex 3” expandable wallet
1 Large Baby wipes (refill pack)
3 Box Kleenex tissues (Largest Size)
1 3” x 3“ Pack Light Colored (un-lined) Post-its
1 College-ruled spiral notebook - 70/80 pages

All First Graders will need headphones. Please send your child in with the ones they used in kindergarten or purchase either (over the ear):
“JLab JBuddies Studio” or
“JLab Audio Neon” headphones
