Growing up in Scarsdale and attending Greenacres Elementary School, I always felt a deep connection to the Scarsdale community. With my mother and many close family members in the field, I knew from a young age that I wanted to teach. That passion took me from Goucher College, where I earned my B.A. in Elementary Education, to a transformative junior year abroad studying Education at Oxford University, and later to Fordham University, where I completed my M.S.Ed. in Reading K–12. I'm also certified in Educational Leadership and Administration at both the building and district levels. This year marks my 35th in teaching, with six in private boys' schools and 28 fulfilling years at Heathcote teaching Kindergarten through third grade. It's been especially meaningful to give back to the Scarsdale community that shaped me, and to experience teaching not just as an educator, but also as a parent. My son Kenny, also a Scarsdale High School graduate, is currently a senior at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. Viewing education through both a professional and parental lens has added a richness to my work that I deeply value.
