This page gives teachers a clear understanding of what is currently available to help satisfy student modifications, accommodations, and IEP goals. Although we started with the intent to meet the needs of students with disabilities, these resources and practices could be beneficial to all. We welcome feedback from the building to clarify the most effective ways of meeting student and teacher needs.
Most of our attention is focused on Kami and GSuite. We hope to build this resource with additional tools and strategies in the future.
We also supply a list of technology solutions you may not know we have access to.
If you have any questions or need support, please contact Meredith Dutra, Bryan Bagala, and Vinny Modafferi.
Why?
These tools are being built into our culture and routines, and we would like to make suggestions.
Students need some guidance on how to manage these tools with direct instruction.
These tools can be built into your beginning-of-the-year routines and visited frequently. This will help you find time later as students become more comfortable with using the tools more effectively.

This does not replace all handwritten notes and reading directly from a text; however, this is a modification that could meet the needs of many students.
What accommodations and modifications does this support?
Goals relating to reading and writing.
Breaking down assignments
How?
Highlighting guide and key - “standardize” specific colors to a specific task that are needed in annotating
YELLOW - main idea (1 per paragraph)
PURPLE - supporting details
BLUE - vocabulary words
GREEN - Unfamiliar words you think you should know
Text boxes - are necessary for downloading the text. If a teacher wants students' comments and annotations, this is what the student needs to use
Comments text - Click on the text or anywhere on the text and then move the point to the discussed area. Comments are searchable. Useful for longer annotations so that the sheet does not get too crowded.
Voice Comments - This will allow students that struggle with oral language to express their thoughts verbally and promote proper grammar while speaking.
