Scarsdale teachers have aligned their writing units to the units of study created by Advancing Literacy (formerly Teachers College Reading and Writing Project).

Our units meet the Next Generation ELA Learning Standards.

Writing units include:

Journalism
Personal Narrative
Literary Essay
Research-Based Argument Essay

Writing skills include:

Adding craft to texts
Developing our own unique “voice”
Remaining mindful of our audience
Revising mindfully, purposefully, and thoughtfully

Fox Meadow is now using Zaner Bloser: Spelling Connections for spelling and

Sadlier Vocabulary Workshop for vocabulary development.
