Title: Hassle Free Map (GPS & Parking)
Description: In the sketch below, I made sure to have the design look easy to use. It’s not overwhelming. Some of of the features include the options menu at the top ( |||). This feature will contain credit information, profile information, vehicle information, rewards/gift card, receipts, recents and saved places. The name of the app will be next to the options menu and to the right of it, the date and time stamp. Under that, there is a search bar where users will be able to search locations or connect to find my friends to locate them and find parking spots in the vicinity. It will follow a normal GPS mode and will have open spots lit up when very close to the location. The available ones will just pop up with green circles on the map. You can drop pins on the map and click to drop (confirm the drop, share location with friends, etc.). The XX pull up at the bottom when nothing is selected: See saved places, recent places, or locations sent by friends. When a parking spot is selected: See duration, pay option, start & end time, receipt sent through email (or can be seen through options menu). When parking duration ends it becomes available again and turns green for others. Also, the meters have the parking zone and number which the user will need to confirm if its the correct spot selected.
Title : Parking Selection Process
Description: This sketch covers how easy it will be to 1) see if one’s destination has available parking spaces and 2) select the desired parking space for reservation. The application is based off of Google Maps and the default Map program for iPhones for familiarity. If users know how to use the two popular map applications, then they’ll have an easier experience utilizing ours. As you’re using the app, you’ll see green and red spaces around your destination. The red spaces imply that the spot is either taken or already reserved, and green means there are spaces available. When you tap on an available space, it will turn blue and immediately hold it as semi-reserved for a set time. Next, one would have to confirm or deny their reservation to complete the process.
Idea:
Enabling location on the mobile device will allow syncing with parking meters and enabling a possible mapping of available parking spots.
A person can open the app as they visit their parking lot or location having location services turned on. The app will then be able to sync with parking meters based on the distance from the device. Once the parking has been done, the user can make sure they are connected to the right lot number and can go about their business. When the leaves they can disconnect and the space they were will be available on the app for parking.
