The field trip will take place at 2:30 PM on 10/12, immediately following lunch. It is a walking tour of downtown New Brunswick led by Claudio Mir, Rutgers Senior Program Coordinator for Community Outreach. The tour will trace community resistance and art relating to immigration in New Brunswick, which has long been a focal point of labor activism in New Jersey. This walking tour will be approximately 90 minutes through the paved, urban center of New Brunswick.
The field trip will begin at 2:30 pm in front of the Barnes and Noble in New Brunswick (100 Somerset St, New Brunswick, NJ 08901). There is paid street parking available (download the Park Mobile app in advance for ease of use), some free street parking, and a bus that runs between the Livingston Campus (Student Center) and College Avenue Campus. From the College Ave Campus, it is an easy walk to the Barnes and Noble bookstore.
There are only 30 spots available for the walking tour, so we are operating with a waitlist. The first 30 people to register will receive an email confirming their spots in the tour, and everyone else will be notified as spots become available.
