Our Scappoose Middle School Wrestling program has grown to include 50+ athletes each season. The focus is on core skill development, learning proper techniques, and building strength, discipline, and confidence. Coaches emphasize steady improvement so that every wrestler—whether brand new or experienced—leaves the mat better than they were the day before.
To compete, athletes need to complete registration through Bound
Athletes need a current physical (within 2 years) and a clearance form.
The Boys Wrestling season begins right after Winter Break and runs through mid-March, ending with the Middle School State Championships in West Albany. This is the ideal time to join the program, build advanced skills, and compete at the highest level of Oregon high school wrestling.
Girls' wrestling is the newest sport at SMS. Girls' Wrestling is Oregon’s newest high school sport, and Scappoose is proud to be part of its rapid growth. The season begins in October and runs through December, giving athletes an early opportunity to train, compete, and develop their skills. Wrestlers also have the option to return in March to compete at Regionals and the Middle School State Championships in West Albany, providing an extended path for those who want to test themselves at the highest level.
