Cultivating Passionate Lifelong Learners for an Ever-changing World!
Mrs. Nudo is Oregon's Elementary Teacher-Librarian of the year, recognized by the Oregon Association of School Libraries and the Scappoose 2025 Amazing Teacher recognized through Pamplin Media's Amazing Teachers special section highlighting teachers in all the areas Pamplin Media papers are distributed including the Columbia County Spotlight. Mrs. Nudo was nominated for these special recognitions by community members and colleagues! These awards are a great honor for her library programs and highlight many of the things she does to create a Culture of Literacy District-wide! Many thanks to all the people who helped make this possible and to all the volunteers and supporters who help make our libraries great every day!
Our SSD Elementary schools have benefited greatly from the generosity of the Scappoose community this year! The Fall and Spring Book Fairs have put 100s of new books directly on the shelves of all 5 district libraries! This support helps to update, replace and grow our school collections--we are SO grateful! THANK YOU!

Meet Mrs. Nudo
Hello! I am so happy to be your Scappoose School District Librarian serving all 5 of our school buildings! We have accomplished some great things over the years and we have had a lot of fun in the library, but we still have work to do--I am excited to see what we can accomplish in the 2025-2026 school year! I can't wait to continue reading, growing, and learning with all of you!
This is my 10th year in Scappoose and I am over the moon excited that I get to share my passion for children's literature with all of you. For over 30 years I have been reading a variety of stories to students from my own extensive classroom library because books help kids make real-world connections and stories empower children (no matter how young or old they are) to become creative and critical thinkers. My fellow teachers and classroom parents know that I can help them find the perfect book for any situation or subject they are teaching, because I know and LOVE books! I am truly honored I get to be included in this incredibly important part of our students' literacy experience! And, I am thrilled that I get to do this EVERY day in the district I love so much--I am very lucky!
When not in the library, I love to spend my time with my husband Mario, our cats, Dewey & Smokey, and our dog, Princess, at our little farm with chickens on Sauvie Island. We love to garden, cycle around the island, fish from the bank of the river, paddle board/kayak, hike/explore and, yes, sit on the beach by the river and enjoy a great book!
Please feel free to contact me with any questions at the contact information below.
