Example: A great example is admitting their mistake even publicly to show their honesty and how they stick to it.
Honour (名誉 Meiyo): Honour meant upholding one’s reputation through ethical conduct, even if it required committing seppuku (ritual suicide)
Example: A samurai committing seppuku to make amends for a failure.
Loyalty (忠義 Chūgi): Loyalty referred to the samurai as showing loyalty to their masters and their daimyos. This was a crucial and significant part in feudal Japan’s social hierarchy.
Example: Saigō Takamori a samurai fought to protect the honour and traditions of the samurai feudal class displaying true and heartfelt loyalty.
Self- control (自制 Jisei): The last virtue is self-control it means staying calm and maintaining composure even in the face of adversities. Samurai trained to suppress fear and anger, ensuring clear judgment.
