Career/College Exploration/Opportunities
ATTN: Current 10-11th grade students! Just a reminder: TECH Center applications go live Jan. 2. If you are interested in TECH, make sure you put in your requests.
Sand Creek has secured 30 spots for the Michigan Construction Career Days. Our scheduled date is May 1. We will leave the school by 8 am and will return by 2:45. If you are interested in attending, please sign up on the Counseling (or Senior) google classroom page. Older students will receive 1st priority.
Sharing an opportunity for those going to MSU. Page 2 has information directed at seniors admitted to MSU. Page one is for juniors interested in visiting campus. Reminder, juniors and seniors have the opportunity for up to two school related college visits per year. The form is available below, in the Counseling office, or on google classroom.
Attention Juniors/Seniors: The LISD TECH Center will be hosting an ASVAB (Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Battery Test on February 1, 2024. The ASVAB test scores are used to help students learn more about career exploration and planning, both in the civilian and military world of work. The ASVAB Career Exploration test is FREE to students. On the day of testing, students will need to be AT THE TECH Center by 8:00 am, and testing will begin at 8:30 am. Students will need to provide their own transportation, as testing will start and finish before and after normal TECH Center bus times. Interested students may email sue.ritchey@lisd.us or stop in to Student Services to sign up at the TECH Center to sign up. This is open to any junior/senior (not just TECH students). Please email Mrs. Ritchey soon if you want to take the test as space is limited.
