There are differences depending on the grade
Grades K-1: Centers are an integral part of the lessons
Center time is built into lessons
New centers are introduced during this time
Students are given a choice to work on previously introduced centers.
Grades 1-2: Suggested Centers included in each lesson for Grade 2
Center day at the end of each section of each unit.
In grade 2, these lessons are optional.
Grades 3-5: Suggested Centers included in each lesson
Center time is in addition to regular class time, as desired by the teacher.
Occasional, optional center day lessons, but in general centers are provided as an extra resource for teachers.
Grade 6: Centers not included in middle school materials.
Utilize Grade 5 (or earlier) Centers to support Grade 6 learning through targeted intervention
