We made a survey asking our peers in our school questions regarding anxiety. These questions included the following:
Have you ever experienced burnout or emotional exhaustion?
Are you aware of the importance of maintaining good mental health?
Do you believe that increasing mental health awareness can help reduce stigma?
Do you believe that mental illness is a sign of personal weakness?
Are you comfortable discussing mental health openly with friends, family, or
Are you aware of mental health resources available in your community or workplace?
What strategies or activities do you use to cope with anxiety in your life?
The answers range on a Yes or No scale ranging from 1-5. "Yes" is at 1 and "No" is at 5.
We asked our school nurse to post our survey publicly, so it was available for almost the whole school to answer. These are the results we got:
The response that majority of people responded to this question included:
sleeping
listening to music
doing hobbies
talking to someone
The purpose of this survey was for us to understand and confirm if anxiety was a concerning problem in our school that students have to face. After looking over the responses, we started this campaign because we realized that anxiety is a major problem that we need to raise awareness of. Based on the survey results, we can learn more about students' perspectives on Anxiety and mental health and figure out how we can implement different resources and events in our school to make students more knowledgeable on these topics.
