Keep in Mind:
Welcome to our classroom family! District Theme: "Rooted in Resilience, Rising with Purpose"
Keep in Mind:
Supplies—While we have some classroom supplies for the children to use, please send your child with the following school supplies:
1 pack of glue sticks
1 Primary K-2 Composition notebook: Primary Composition Notebook Example
1 Pack 24 crayons
1 Pack Markers
Post-It Notepads
Headphones
Bottle of Sanitizer
Lysol Wipes or Spray
Box of Tissues
Backpack: Your child will also need a backpack to bring things back and forth to school. Be sure it is a backpack that he or she can carry on his/her back. For safety purposes, the teachers are asking that your child only use backpacks to be carried on his/her back (ie: no rolling backpacks). Also, your child will be receiving a “Daily Folder” to transport notes, lunch money and homework. Please be sure to check the contents of the folder and return the folder with only things to be returned to school the following school day. The folder will contain information to let you know about your child’s day as well as communications from both classroom and office.
Class Wish List—Below are items I “wish” that we had for use in our classroom. Please do not feel obligated to send any of these items in. Throughout the school year, I may ask for additional items for specific projects or to replenish our supplies.
Paper Towels
Ziploc sandwich bags
Ziploc Gallon size bags
Card Stock Paper (Any Color)
Dry Erase Markers and Erasers
Index Cards (Any Size)
Homework—Students will receive homework on a daily basis to practice skills taught in the classroom. Our goal is to begin establishing a good routine and encourage individual responsibility. Please encourage your child to read for 20 minutes each night and fill out his / her reading log in addition to daily homework assignments.
We love to recognize children’s birthdays. However, NO FOOD, BALLOONS or GOODY BAGS are permitted for these celebrations. If you would like your child’s birthday to be recognized, please reach out to me at least one week in advance. I will share the way(s) in which birthdays will be recognized in class. Most often this will be a read aloud book your child has chosen, a morning meeting activity of your child’s choice, or a free-choice activity of your child’s choice. Invitations to birthday celebrations are not to be distributed at school.
Snack + Water - We will have snack time daily; please send in a healthy snack with your child each day, even if he or she is buying lunch. Some suggestions for snacks are cheese, fruit, yogurt, pretzels, cereal, juice, crackers, etc. Please do not send in candy.
School Lunch + School Breakfast - Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase, daily. If your child is buying breakfast or lunch, please send the money in an envelope with your child’s name on it. Checks can be made out to “South Brunswick Board of Education”. Children who bring lunch from home should have their name labeled on their lunch bag or box. For your convenience, we have a debit card program where you can put money onto your child’s card so he or she can purchase lunch without having to bring in money each day. You can access this program on the Constable School website co.sbschools.org (Select "School Information" and then "Lunch Information" and then "MySchoolBucks Info") or you can access the system directly: https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ver2/login/getmain?requestAction=home.
