Hello! My name is Mikaela Petersen. 

I love being a Bearcat! I was born and raised here in Scottsbluff and attended Scottsbluff Public Schools until I graduated from SHS in 2017. I decided to pursue my passion for students and biological sciences and graduated with my education degree in 2022! This is my fourth year teaching and I am more than excited to be spending it here at SHS.

I have been married to my husband, Austin (also an SHS graduate), for six years. We welcomed our first baby, Auggie, in April of 2025. We love volunteering, playing music, spending time with family, and spoiling our many nieces and nephews together.
