Classic American Literature

Class Description

This one-semester course focuses on the characters and themes of classical novels, short stories, and plays with regards to contemporary life. Students will read The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Great Gatsby, The Crucible, multiple short stories, poetry, and early American essays.  Students will write multiple essays to prepare for the ACT and create projects to represent the themes, ideas, texts that we have discussed.
