Class Description
This course is designed to be the equivalent of a general chemistry course usually taken during the first college year. The class focuses on the the main principles and processes which govern chemical systems with understanding being achieved through Inquiry/project-based learning. Laboratory experiences are extensive in this course in order to develop advanced reasoning skills necessary to engage in science practices used in chemistry. These skills include designing a plan to collect data, analyzing data, applying mathematical routines and connecting concepts. College credit and/or placement in college courses can be obtained by taking the AP Exam administered in May.
