 To explore the structure (anatomy) and function (physiology) of the human body.  The course is designed for college-bound seniors interested in the medical field or biological sciences, but is recommended for any student with an interest in the human body.

COURSE OBJECTIVE:  To explore the structure (anatomy) and function (physiology) of the human body.  The course is designed for college-bound seniors interested in the medical field or biological sciences, but is recommended for any student with an interest in the human body.  

 

 

PREREQUISITES:  Biology and Chemistry.  

 

 

CLASS RULE:  SHOW RESPECT!!!  (This will be explained in detail during class.)

 

 

GRADING POLICY:  Grades will be determined using tests, lab work, daily assignments, quizzes, etc.

 

Percentage Point Grading Breakdown

70%-TESTS (after each chapter, and major projects)

      LAB (participation and summaries) and quizzes.

                                                                FINAL EXAM- comprehensive (cat dissection for 2nd semester)

30%- DAILY (homework assignments and quizzes)

Classroom Procedures

1.   Students are expected to bring a notebook, writing utensil, textbook and Chromebook to class every day.  Chromebooks will be used intermittently for research purposes only, otherwise they will be expected to be closed and put to the side. 

2.   All Exams are expected to be taken on or before the date it is given in class.  If possible, students are expected to take exams before they are absent due to a pre-planned, excused absence.   Makeup exams must be completed within 48 hours of the missed exam date.
