Scottsbluff Public Schools - Every Child, Every Day
Teaching is the most important human endeavor. My passion is to help students discover who they are and realize potential they did not know they possess. We have phenomenal educators and leaders at Scottsbluff High School. It's always a great day to be a Bearcat!
I taught for two wonderful years at Omaha Westside High School before coming back home to the Scottsbluff-Gering community. I have taught and coached at Scottsbluff High School since 2006. I am the Mathematics Department Chair, Scottsbluff Mu Alpha Theta sponsor, and Bluffs Middle School MATHCOUNTS Head Coach.
My wife, Laura, is a pharmacist at Regional West Medical Center. We have a middle schooler, Allison, and a Westmoor Wildcat, Emmett. I have a Master's degree in math education from the University of Nebraska Omaha and a bachelors degree from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in Math 7-12 and ESL K-12. I have taught UNL graduate courses in teaching elementary school mathematics, statistics pedagogy, and using technology to enhance problem solving instruction. In 2013 I was recognized as a Presidential Awardee for Excellence in Math & Science Teaching. In 2015 I was named Nebraska Teacher of the Year.
