On the second night of the 40th Santa Barbara International Film Festival, TEEN PRESS reporters Dylan & Maya from Team 53, faced the challenges of a crowded red carpet for the Modern Master Award recipient ANGELINA JOLIE and the eponymous LEONARD MALTIN. Their preparation was not rewarded with an interview with the honoree, but they got to meet some interesting people, including 3 generations of Maltins!
Team 53 members MAYA & DYLAN joined the throngs of press on the red carpet to cover the Maltin Modern Master Award. They set the stage for what they hope is to come!
DYLAN & MAYA got to talk with the writer & writer/director of the documentary "Parrot Kindergarten," LYMAN SMITH & AMY HERDY, along with one of the subjects of the film, JENNIFER TAYLOR O'CONNELL.
Teen Press reporters DYLAN & MAYA have a lovely conversation with MEREDITH SALENGER, Director/Actor, as well as ANDRE HYLAND and ALI GALLO, Actors, the filmmakers of "I Hate Myself and Want to Die" a comedy about suicide (!?).
As 8 o'clock and the start of the event closed in, the long-time critic and moderator for the award approached...preceded by his daughter and grand-daughter! DYLAN & MAYA worked their way up though the generations of Maltins, finishing with the master critic & moderator himself.
