Arlington Artist of the Year Award

Celebrating TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET's performance in the Bob Dylan film "A COMPLETE UNKNOWN", on Tuesday, February 11th, the festival produced a tribute to him, along with presenting him the Arlington Artist of the Year Award.

Teen Press reporters ELLA & LAUREN were on the red carpet with preparation and anticipation, but the artist of the year sped by into the theater after spending his free time with fans on State Street. Despite that disappointment, they enjoyed interviewing independent filmmakers seeking publicity for their work.

CARA YEATES

Talking about the influence of growing up in a small town in Argentina with a fascinating local cable service, documentary Director SERGIO MAZA declared that “I always wanted to make movie about movies.” Team 53 reporters LAUREN & ELLA also got to talk with his Producer CARA YEATES on the Red Carpet for the Arlington Artist Award.

JOAN IYIOLA

Talking with Teen Press reporters ELLA & LAUREN, the Writer & Director of “Mango”, JOAN IYIOLA, said she “…wanted to lift (the shroud) on all this (fibroids)...it affects 80% of black women, 70% of white women…”

JOEL INCHAUSTEGUI, BENJAMIN WELLINGTON

Team 53 reporters LAUREN & ELLA spoke with two of the Producers of the immigration documentary "Roads of Fire”, JOEL INCHAUSTEGUI, BENJAMIN WELLINGTON. Benjamin, who was also the Editor, said “Things can feel hopeless, but…people can make a real impact when they’re helping out.”

RAY MAIELLO

Talking about the dark comedy "My Dead Friend Zoe”, Producer RAY MAIELLO, told Teen Press reporters LAUREN & ELLA that “…it’s all about listening and hearing, and talking…with people who’ve experienced forms of trauma…(which )…actually helps people. To help people and to tell a good story is what really did it for me.”

SONEQUA MARTIN-GREEN

Speaking of the Director, Kyle Hausmann-Stokes, who took the story from his own experience, when he wrote her a letter to ask her to join the production, Actor SONEQUA MARTIN-GREEN said “He wanted to tell this story to save lives…and that just blew me away, and I wanted to do that.” Happily Team 53 reporters ELLA & LAUREN were on the red carpet to find out the story.
