I'm not good enough to be in the band..

• yes you are...

• It's our job to get you there

But I don't play an instrument!

• We can fix that! We have beginners each year some of which are seniors doing band for the first time.

Can I play in football (or other sports) while in Band

• YES! I did, many students do, and you can too!

• Schedule conflicts are worked out ahead of time.

How is this possible? Don't you play during the games?

• The Scarlet Regiment plays at all home VARSITY football games. If you are on the Varsity Football team, you don't play at the games, but you still play at the other events like competitions, and parades.

• If you are on the Junior Varsity team, we discuss whether or not it is too much for you to play a football game and then perform. WE WORK WITH YOU!

How much will this cost me?

• Some bands just up the road charge their students from $300 to $1000 or more just to be in the band. WE DO NOT!

• We work hard to provide a free education (as required by law) to our musicians

• There may be some charges for things that are usually optional and we keep this to a minimum (marching band or dance shoes are an example)

• If there is ANY item you are asked to pay for and you are not able to do so, let Mr. Fortino know and it will be taken care of confidentially

• Our Baler Band Boosters and amazing support from our SBHSD makes this a possibility

At what events does the Scarlet Regiment typically perform?

• All home football games

• Saturday Competitions in October and November

• Local Parades including Veterans Day, Homecoming, Holiday Parades and more

• The vast majority of performances occur from August to Early December

How can support the Scarlet Regiment?

• Purchasing fireworks at our booth (Ace Hardware Parking Lot)

• Coming to our Scarlet Regiment Tournament of Bands (held every October, check the calendar)
