2023-2024 School Year
Jobs for California’s Graduates is an affiliate of Jobs for America’s Graduates, a national school to career transition program with the mission of supporting young people with significant barriers to success to remain in school, complete their high school diploma and to develop the necessary academic, personal, leadership, and career skills to be successful to carry out their post-secondary plan. The program currently serves approximately 50 sophomores, juniors, and seniors with the support of a program specialist who serves as an elective teacher to support students develop in the five program goal areas of leadership development, career development, social and civic awareness, and community service. Students receive one year of additional support from the specialist following high school graduation in carrying out their post-secondary plan.

|National Student Leadership Academy
In December of 2023, five JCG students attended the National Student Leadership Academy in Washington D.C. where they participated in leadership workshops, networked with government and business leaders, and met with U.S. Representative Pete Aguilar at the Capitol to discuss issues we face in the region and how JCG can play a role to support positive change in our community.
|ELECTIONS
Students held campaigns with the goal of being elected by their peers for the following roles: Senior and Junior JCG President, Vice Presidents of Leadership Development, Career Development, Social Awareness, Civic Awareness, and Community Service, Web Designer, Public Relations Director and Bulletin Board Coordinator.

CALIFORNIA CAREER DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE
Throughout the school year, JCG regularly has guest speakers come to our school and present in order for students to have an idea of what careers and opportunities are out in the world to pursue. Along with being guided on how to do resumes, making LinkedIn and participating in mock interviews. Students are also transported to visit and tour college campuses, universities, and technical schools according to their career interests. Lastly they are presented with clear information on how to complete their FAFSA and make most of their financial aid.

Grid Alternatives is an organization that wants to build community powered solutions to advance economic and environmental justice through renewable energy. Eight JCG students will be taking a course for solar installations basics to advance their opportunities for a career in solar energy.
Major Kimberly Anthony, RN and professor of nursing at Concord College presented to students about careers in nursing and healthcare and her background in the military.

GNAP-ing helps students introduce themselves the acronym stands for Greeting, Name, Association, and Purpose.
During the first days of school, students did Ice breakers in order to get to know one another!
Lunchtime socials are held for students in JCG to come in during lunch and do fun teambuilding games.
During the holiday season, students participated in gingerbread house making.
Spooky season also consisted of a number of fun games and activities!

CLUB RUSH
During club rush, students who were in the program were able to spread the word and information about JCG and recruit more students of San Gorgonio High School.

JCG students had the opportunity to participate in the Kiwanis toy drive. Students donated toys, clothing, and food to the organization. also got a chance to see the kids and their families walk out happy with a toy and food clothing.
